Chapter 155 : Aghoreshwara
Once when traveling with Gurunatha
near Sagara, we repeatedly saw a signboard called ‘Aghoreshwara temple’ then
Gurunatha said, what is that Aghoreshwara temple turn there, let us go and see.
When we were there we were surprised at the emotions shown by Gurunatha on
seeing the linga. Even for the rest of us it looked very special.
“I have done puja here for two days”
said Gurunatha; making us wonder if there was any place where he had not been.
In another instance, we went to a
temple called Sharabheshwara temple near Shivamogga. It is an Anjaneya temple
where the idol has manifested itself in a stone. Within the Garbha gudi
(sanctum, place where the idol I kept in a temple) there is only enough place
for one person to stand. An elderly priest welcomed us into the temple. He
accepted our offerings. While tying the garland we had given to the doorway
leading to Garbha gudi it was always falling off. By this sign the priest
realized some special person has entered the temple. He repeatedly asked
Gurunatha to reveal his identity.
At last Gurunatha said, “It’s me
Venkatachala, 30 years before I had performed puja here for 6 months along with
you”. Hearing this, the elderly priest was overcome by emotions, with tears in
his eyes and folded hands he said to Gurunatha “Today is probably the luckiest
day of my life”.
It is impossible to describe the
acts of our omnipresent Gurunatha. Isn’t it?
