Chapter 127 :  Speed and direction of life

Recently, I met a devotee from Belur. He used to frequently visit Sakharaya Patna. When this Charanadasa asked him to explain some of his experiences with Gurunatha he started like this..

When the speed and direction of my life’s journey itself was decided by Gurunatha it is a bit hard to separate out certain events as experiences. He thought for a while and then probably got one incident he could narrate.

He said, “You know I was visiting Gurunatha’s residence on a regular basis. Once a few my of friends and relatives which included my uncle had hired a car and were one our way to Sakharaya Patna to meet Gurunatha. We had probably traveled about half the distance when I got a call.

The caller said, my uncle’s son (about 5-6 years of age) while coming back from school in a bus had come under the tires of the same bus due to the negligence of the conductor. The bus tire had rolled right over his waist.

Trying to console my uncle who was with me (boy’s father) I told him “See, our Gurunatha is with us, you need not worry, he will never leave us”. Along with those words I offered my prayers as well.

Instead of going to Sakharaya Patna we went to Hassan where the boy was admitted. When we went there we had a surprise in store. The boy had injuries that could have happened from a small two wheeler though a big bus had run over him.

Well I am not too bothered about what others might say, or what logic they might find that resulted in boy’s miraculous escape, for me it was clear that our Gurunatha whom we trusted had not left us and will never leave us alone in the hour of need. I am continuing my life with the same faith. His eyes filled with tears when he said
those words.
