Chapter 59 : Tranquility
'Once talking about fate.. he had
said.. “Why is it that sometimes God will give you everything, but will not let
you have any of it?”
Once when talking about family ..he
wondered even though a male and female start their family journey after
accepting each other, the mutual respect, belief and love wanes why? Whenever
someone else appreciates/praises their spouse they are filled with pride for a
moment. But, when seeing each other that respect will not stay why? What’s this
but a God’s play? Though, the bodies mingle the minds do not.. why? Marriage
should be a process of two minds coming together.
In another instance he had said,
coming together of a male and a female is like union of man and nature, both
are equal, nobody is any better than the other one.. Neither is subservient to
the other nor better than the other. Respecting each other and staying together
as friends is what is required and this would serve as mark of respect for our
elders and model for our society and next generation.
It is a common misconception that
families with more money lead a happier life. What is necessary is love,
respect to each other and tolerance. Money is necessary for living and not life
by itself.. is it not? By questioning like this he would quell our illusion
about money and social status.
Our life is similar to how people
with stark differences travel in one bus and get down at their respective stations
he once said this about life, clearing all our misconceptions about the same in
one simile.
Tranquility and happiness are what
are to be searched inside and not outside. If our mind is calm we can prevail
over the most adverse situations. If our mental state itself is not stable we
cannot expect much.
We should not try and change
external things in vain; rather we should change our mental state and perspective
of those external things.
