Chapter 82 : Guru, the repositor of self confidence

A couple from Malenadu belt did not have any children even after many years after their marriage. The doctors who were consulted had told the couple that they were incapable of having any children. Distraught on hearing this, the couple wanted to approach Gurunatha as their last attempt.

Unexpectedly the mother, who had come to Sakharaya Patna, met Gurunatha and pleaded Gurunatha to relieve her daughter of the misery. Gurunatha gave a couple of grapes and assured that the lady will have children. But, he insisted the lady should not consult any doctor for about three months. Within three months the lady showed many signs of pregnancy but soon after she menstruated. The mother who had met Gurunatha pleaded with couple not to visit any doctor for three months. The couple waited and visited a doctor after 3 months and got to know that the lady had indeed conceived and had two embryos one of them had become
still born.

Today the lady is the mother of a healthy boy. When the couple went to Gurunatha with their baby to get his blessings Gurunatha asked the lady “What else do you want?” She replied, “I want your grace on my family to be forever”.

It was a middle class family residing in Shivamogga; the family had 5-6 daughters. Though the couple had married off all their daughters they had accumulated a lot of debt in the process and were reeling under the pressure of repaying their debt. After hearing about Gurunatha through someone they came to Gurunatha’s residence and explained their difficulties. Gurunatha suggested they should start areca business and he assured the couple shall repay their debts and shall lead a peaceful life. As advised the couple started areca business. Today after repaying their debts they are in a position to help others.

There was a couple who had a son; the small family was leading a simple life without getting into any excesses. The family was at the forefront of Guru’s service in its own small way. The husband was a government servant and the wife a homemaker. Gurunatha used to appreciate the lady’s amiable and gentle nature. This lady once came to know of an affair of one of her in-laws with someone outside the family. Unexpectedly she also stumbled upon their love letters. With the noble intention of saving the family from any embarrassment she burnt those letters.

Within a few days of this, the lady started suffering from severe bleeding and became very weak. At one point of time she was unable to walk on her own. After a few attempts by the doctors to relieve her of her suffering had failed, she reached out to Gurunatha for help as she was already in touch with Gurunatha. Consoling her Gurunatha suggested a remedy, she was required to get some water, betel leaves, rice mix them in a pot and throw it outside. She did as instructed and the bleeding which had not stopped for months stopped in a matter of hours.

Later on during one of her visits she asked Gurunatha about the reason of her suffering. Gurunatha told her about the burning of the letters and seeing a sick woman next door and being frightened by her disease as the causes.

A lady who had got married to a rich family had a girl child, the husband and in-laws wanted a boy so they were disappointed. A few years later when she became pregnant again, she started worrying about what might happen if the second child also happened to be a girl. She came to Gurunatha and explained her concern. Gurunatha gave her some her rice flakes to eat and sent her back saying she has nothing to worry. In due course she gave birth to a baby boy.

A person working in a gulf country did not have any children many years after marriage. He was blessed with a baby after he was graced by Gurunatha. To express his gratitude on the 12th day from the day child was born he flew down from that country along with his wife and got Gurunatha’s blessings for his newborn.
